Some of the members of ARK started out as foster parents and volunteers with the local shelter.
They would spend time away from their families and go to Pet’ Mart or pet co in an attempt to adopt out dogs and cats to loving families. They expected nothing in return, just the satisfaction of knowing they helped to save a life. Even though working with the shelter was rewarding, they felt they could do more. So a couple of members decided they would start their own rescue group. On January of 2006 ARK was born. We used this symbol for a reason. Like Noah and his ark, we are trying to rescue and save these animals. And give them a second chance to live. Unlike Noah, are animals are not being rescued from water, they are being rescued from time which some shelter animals have little of. Many cats and dogs are dieing everyday needlessly because some shelters are so full and to make room for more animals, many adoptable cats and dog will have to die. It is unfortunate, but the shelters have limited space. This is when they call the rescue groups for help.That’s where we come in. We go to the local shelters and find the dogs and cats that have been there for a while. We remove them and foster them out in our homes. We make every effort to ensure the animals we foster are in good health. We have the spayed or neutered and when we feel the are ready, we take them to pet’s Mart in Temecula and Murrieta to be adopted along with dogs and cats that owners relinquish to us.For some of our members this is a full time job with no pay. What little money we receive goes directly back into the company which pays to remove more animals from the local shelter. Medical expenses, spay and neuter fees, immunizations, medications veterinary costs and food est.
